Educated by the leading lights of the Dutch early music movement, violinist MirandaHutton is one of New Zealand’s leading baroque music specialists. Highlights of her time overseas include leading a fully-staged seven week season of Moliere’s  Le Malade Imaginaire in Utrecht, performing Purcell’s  Fairy Queen and King Arthur  as interactive plays for children, recording several CDs with the New Dutch Academy and winning first prize with her classical period quartet in a competition in Mannheim. Now based in Auckland,  Miranda  enjoys sharing the role of Co-Artistic Director of NZ Barok, New Zealand’s Baroque Orchestra with colleague and former teacher Graham McPhail. She also works with Age of Discovery and Affetto as well as Chamber Music New Zealand and New Zealand Opera.  Miranda  regularly travels across the Tasman to perform with various ensembles including Latitude 37, the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra and Pinchgut Opera.  Miranda is the leader of Auckland Choral’s baroque programmes and is a Suzuki violin teacher.
