The New Zealand Dance Advancement Trust, the Charitable Trust operating The New Zealand Dance Company, seeks high-quality applicants for a contract position as The New Zealand Dance Company’s Marketing and Development Coordinator on a Fixed Term Contract.

The New Zealand Dance Company is a vibrant new arts company funded by Creative New Zealand. Our vision is to create a sustainable, permanent, high-calibre dance company, with an Auckland home that contributes to the fabric of NZ culture and is dedicated to nurturing NZ’s finest contemporary dance practitioners.

You will work alongside the Marketing and Development Manager, Chantal Woodfine and the Chief Executive/Artistic Director, Shona McCullagh, to implement marketing strategies for the national and international touring seasons within 2016, assist with showcasing and fundraising events, and serve as an enthusiastic assistant within an operational role.

Your primary role will be to assist the Marketing & Development Manager in the implementation of key tasks and strategies that provide fundraising & marketing support for the performance seasons of The New Zealand Dance Company.

We are looking for a confident outgoing individual with a can-do and proactive attitude. You may be a recent graduate or with 1-2 years working experience looking for new opportunity.

Your key responsibilities for this role will include but are not limited to:

  • Working with the Marketing Manager to identify opportunities to develop and implement appropriate Marketing Strategies.
  • Assisting with the development and execution of Marketing & Fundraising campaigns.
  • Assisting with the production and distribution of NZDC marketing and event collateral for company events and productions
  • Promoting The New Zealand Dance Company’s programming, funding initiatives and seasons
  • Email Marketing and Database Management (training provided)
  • Day to day management of the NZDC Website & Facebook page
  • Supporting the Chief Exec and Marketing & Development Manager with documentation including Proposals, Grant Applications and Reporting
  • Managing the Fundraising Calendar of activity
  • Assisting in the preparation of youth and community engagement marketing material
  • Administration duties


Ideal Candidate:

  • Preferably a recent Marketing Graduate with relevant working experience
  • Experience in social media management and campaigns (MailChimp, Facebook, Twitter)
  • Tech savvy – Mac Skills essential (WordPress & InDesign) – design skills are a definite plus
  • Experience with Photoshop and Microsoft office
  • Positive can-do attitude is a must!
  • Self-motivated and have the desire to achieve result
  • Outgoing and vibrant personality
  • Effective time management
  • Excellent verbal & written communications skills
  • Willing to learn
  • Creative thinking
