Lucy Marinkovich is a New Zealand contemporary dancer, choreographer, and the founder of the multi-disciplinary performance collective Borderline Arts Ensemble. She trained at the New Zealand School of Dance before joining Footnote Dance Company. Lucy was awarded Best Emerging Female Artist and Best Female Dancer by Tempo Dance Festival, and has been recognised with both the Eileen May Norris Dance Trust Scholarship and the Creative New Zealand Tup Lang Choreographic Award.

Lucy has undertaken freelance performance and research projects in Germany, Israel, Palestine, Hong Kong, China, Spain and Austria and participated in the World Dance Alliance’s International Choreolab in France and the South East Asian Choreolab in Malaysia. As a choreographer her performance installations and choreographic works have been presented throughout New Zealand in festivals, galleries, shipping containers and site-responsive contexts, and internationally in Spain, Singapore, Malaysia and Croatia. Lucy has been invited as a Choreographer in Residence to Croatia, Malaysia, and twice to Singapore.

Lucy is a member of the Asia New Zealand Foundation’s Leadership Network, holds a BA in English Literature and is a volunteer knitter for the Red Cross. Lucy’s spare time is split between traveling abroad and uploading photos of her Russian Blue cat, Dostoevsky, to the internet.
