Chris’s introduction to contemporary dance was through the Urban Youth Movement under Black Grace in 2010 and 2011.

He has recently completed the performing and screen arts course at Unitec and worked with multiple choreographers while there, such as Michael Parmenter, Katie Burton, Malia Johnston and Moss Patterson.

Chris feels fortunate to have seconded with The New Zealand Dance Company numerous times in his final year at Unitec.

2015 began with the Australasian Tour of Rotunda and he continues full time employment with The New Zealand Dance Company. He also performed in the 2015 Lumina Premiere season, the 2016 Lumina Germany/Holland Tour, and most recently the 2016 Lumina North Island Tour.

Chris is a finalist for the 2016 Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative, in which the winner will gain a mentorship with dance master Ohad Naharin.

For the moment he aims to become the best dancer that he can be and, in the future, plans to explore his own ideas and concepts through choreography.
