DIVERSE NEW DANCE WORKS

BY EMERGING & MID-CAREER CHOREOGRAPHERS

Ka whāngaia, ka tupu, ka puāwai

That which is nurtured grows, then blossoms.

This choreographic development project supports of a minimum of three New Zealand choreographers, including Māori and Pasifica artists, to develop works with an aim of creating choreography for young people. Performances of chosen works would take place through NZDC’s Youth and Community Engagement Programme’s Tamaki Tour. This project celebrates NZDC’s commitment to Tauiwi, Mana Māori, Mana Pasifika under the core value of Mana Toi.

CALL FOR PROPOSALS: Closing Date –  Thursday 18th January 2018

New Work Development & Mentoring

The New Zealand Dance Company is calling for applications from choreographers interested in creating new works on the Company. Solos, duets, trios, quartets and quintet works will be considered.

Development and rehearsal dates will be from 28 May – 22 June 2018 and choreographers will receive mentoring and support.

Performance dates for chosen works are between 25 June – 31 July 2018 as part of our Tamaki Tour.

NB: We are seeking proposals that are choreographic rather than design dependant and concepts which are child and youth friendly.
